Gleneagles is a small, intimate community in West Plano, Texas. It’s home to the prestigious Gleneagles Country Club, considered one of the top private golf courses in the country. The course features two 18-hole championship golf courses, private event facilities, and many other amenities. It recently underwent an $8 million improvement project that added a new restaurant, bar, wine cellar, and outdoor terrace.

Local Lifestyle

Gleneagles is an exclusive neighborhood with a tight-knit community. Residents often get together at the Gleneagles Country Club and Clubhouse to spend time with neighbors, friends, and family. The larger neighborhood is subdivided into the gated communities of Green of Gleneagles, Cliffs of Gleneagles, Fairways of Gleneagles, and Estates of Gleneagles. You’ll find opulent homes in traditional, European Mediterranean, and modern architectural styles. Most of them were built around 1999 and are incredibly well-maintained and highly sought-after. They feature swimming pools, deluxe bedrooms, chef’s kitchens, spacious floor plans, and lush landscaping.


Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

A short drive away are Gleneagles Plaza, Plano Towne Crossing, Willow Bend Market, Preston Village Shopping Center, and West Plano Village. The award-winning Saltgrass Steakhouse is an upscale Texas roadhouse serving daily prime meats, sides, and bread made from scratch. Kona Grill serves new American cuisine, sushi, and some low-calorie options. Kitaro Sushi has sushi rolls, noodle soups, and grilled entrees for traditional Japanese. 
 
Princi Italia has pizza, pasta, and a popular brunch menu. Ford’s Garage is a restaurant and bar serving American comfort food and craft beers. Lover’s Egg Roll has Chinese and Thai dishes served counter-style. Eatzi’s Market and Bakery is a European-style counter serving custom sandwiches, grilled fare, and ready-to-go entrees.

Preston Park Village is an open-air plaza with fashion retail and beauty salons for upscale shopping. At Windhaven Plaza, you will find a grocery store with an in-store deli and bakery. Market Street, Whole Foods Market, and Trader Joe’s are nearby.


Things to Do 

Gleneagles Country Club has a driving range, a 36-hole golf course, tennis courts, a fitness center, and a new restaurant and bar. It’s a beautiful green space with several ponds and White Rock Creek. Windhaven Park is also close by, and it has a recreation center, a playground, picnic tables, and walking trails.
 
The Box Garden at Legacy Hall has an outdoor stage and courtyard for live music. Lava Cantina is another popular live music venue. Love & War Texas also has live music on the weekends.
 
One of the biggest festivals in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the Plano Balloon Festival has carnival rides, games, food vendors, marathon races, and live entertainment. The Plano International Festival is the largest, longest-running multicultural festival in North Texas and features food and music from all over the world. Plano also hosts the annual All American 4th, an all-day celebration with fireworks in the evening. In December, Dickens in Downtown is set in the historic arts district and has food, a snow slide, and shopping.
